How To Heal Your Energy With Nature

Have you ever noticed that some of your most lucid memories are of moments that you have been in nature? The rough scrape of your knees as you climb a tree as a child, breathing in the sweet scent of honeysuckle growing up a garden wall, or maybe meandering along the shore as you feel the soft sand beneath your feet. That’s because when you spend time in nature, you absorb the energy of the earth, and like osmosis for your soul, every fiber of your being retains your experiences deep within your psyche.

The EMF experiment

In our high-tech, fast-paced society, it’s easy to forget how truly connected to the natural world we actually are. After all, this is the first time in human history that we, as a civilization, have moved so far away from nature and the truth is, we need to get back to our roots. With the onslaught of electromagnetic fields and now the rise of 5G, it’s more critical than ever before that we make a conscious effort to immerse ourselves in the natural world.

EMF exposure is more harmful than most people realize, and the negative effects on your health can be debilitating to downright devastating. Emerging studies on the damaging effects of EMF exposure can cause a range of conditions in the human body:

  • Headaches

  • Memory loss

  • Depression

  • Insomnia

  • Brain fog

  • Nerve damage

Unfortunately for people who have Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! And although it’s impossible to imagine life now without smartphones, Bluetooth technology, and other electronic gadgets, it’s crucial tospend time outdoors. A large portion of society suffers from Nature-Deficit Disorder, which is a term that encompasses the negative impact of low vitamin D levels that so many people suffer from. And with the rise of alarming illnesses in children never seen before such as obesity, fatty liver disease, and memory and concentration issues, it’s crucial to teach the younger generations the value of going outdoors.

Forest Bathing

You may have heard that the Japanese have the longest lifespan than that of any other culture in the world. It’s no wonder that there are so many centenarians, or people living to be a hundred years old, in Japan. After all, they invented Shinrin-yoku, otherwise known as forest bathing. To the western world, the idea of forest bathing sounds mysterious and exotic, but it’s really just immersing yourself in the woods and experiencing the forest habitat fully and with each of your five senses.

When you go forest bathing, you are intentionally practicing mindfulness, and when that happens, life slows down and you can breathe more deeply. Your senses open up and you notice the various shades of green in the leaves, the rough touch of the bark of a tree or the velvet softness of moss, and the silky feel of a newly emerging flower bud in bloom.

When you catch the subtle scents wafting in the air, you are actually engaging in a form of detox not just for your soul, but for your body, as well. That’s because plants produce a substance called phytoncides that keeps them safe from harmful insects. And when you breathe phytoncides into your lungs, something amazing happens.

Your concentration becomes clearer, your immunity improves, and you even feel fewer aches and pains in your body. Much research has been done on the effects of phytoncides in drastically reducing stress levels, lowering your heart rate and blood pressure, and even speeding up the recovery time from illnesses. In other words, it’s holistic healing at the cellular level. So when you go forest bathing, you experience deep feelings of peace and rejuvenation that are unparalleled to anything else you will ever experience.

Grounding

Did you know that the earth has a heartbeat? It’s called the Schumann Resonance, and it’s gained recognition in the last two decades for its beneficial effect on humans. It’s unfortunate that the majority of people don’t know that humans are conduits and just like a battery, they need to be charged by the earth. That’s because the ground emits Extremely Low Frequency Electromagnetic Resonances, otherwise known as ELFs, that transfer electrons through your skin. Inside the body, those electrons convert to some very powerful antioxidants not seen anywhere else in nature. Researchers have been amazed how these electrons repair damaged cells, heal tissue, and restore overall health in a way that seems nothing short of miraculous.

So when you go walking in the woods, be brave and take your shoes off, because those rubber soles are keeping you from the true healing that your body needs. Some people call it grounding or earthing, but it means the same thing, and it can be a life-changing experience when you incorporate grounding as a mindfulness practice. The good news is that you don’t need a forest to do it, just a nice patch of grass to wriggle your toes in.

You also get the same wonderful benefits of stress release, improved quality of sleep, and feelings of overall joy by going sanding, or otherwise strolling barefoot alongside a beach or lake. So don’t feel guilty about taking some time to yourself to do a little grounding, sanding, or whatever you want to call it. Because when you walk the earth with your bare feet, you reap many of the same benefits that you would while meditating. Think of it as a form of meditation in motion!

When you embrace your environment as nature intended, you tap into your biological rhythms and awaken your soul at the primal level. And when you get out in the sunshine, you soak up all of that beautiful vitamin D that is so vital for true health. You instantly feel more vibrant and alive, and more in tune with the world around you. And now that you have plenty of reasons to do it, feel free to go hug a tree, and give your mind, body, and soul something to celebrate.

A Healing Oak Tree Meditation

The benefits of grounding, otherwise known as earthing, are numerous. When you feel the earth beneath your feet, you harness the earth’s energy and you are rejuvenated both in your body and your mind. For when you can’t get outside, you can read the meditation below to help you feel a deeper connection with the natural world.

You are walking through an ancient pine forest, completely enshrouded in deep mossy green ferns and a rich tapestry of trees overhead. Patches of sunlight filter through the branches of the trees to the forest floor below, and you gaze in wonder at the luminescent glow of the light. You can see dust motes dancing in the light, little specks of gossamer floating in gentle swirls and eddies. You breathe the air in as deeply as you can, inhaling the rich, damp, earthy smell of soil and plants.

You feel so good to be here, and you know in your soul that this is right where you need to be. A cool mist permeates the air and it feels good against your skin, like the tickle of an angel sigh on your arms and face. You walk along the path laid before you, feeling the deepest sense of peace that you have ever known. You are so happy and grateful that you’re barefoot, as you feel twigs and leaves crunch beneath the soles of your feet. The energy of the earth moves upward through your legs in a magnetic pull, giving you sustenance, as if the ground is nourishment for your body and soul.

The birds high up in the trees are twittering in a world unto themselves, and you feel completely safe and secure as you continue along the winding forest path. you gaze down at your feet as you walk, but when you glance up you see the most magnificent oak tree that you have ever seen, and an overwhelming sense of reverence washes over you. you feel like you are standing in the presence of eternity as you stare at the massive oak. you can feel the energy radiating off of the giant tree as you walk up to it, and then gingerly put your arms around it, the cedar scent invigorating your soul.

Its enormous trunk is rough and the bark scratches your cheek, but as you embrace the colossal tree, you feel its life force emanating through you. you close your eyes, listening to the distant chatter of the birds, seeing the light of the sun and a thousand little dots sparking against your eyelids, and you release the biggest sigh of your entire life.

You feel the leaves of care fluttering away from you, all of the heavy burdens that you have been carrying with you drifting to the forest floor in total insignificance in the shadow of the oak. Warm sunshine glimmers all around you, the moist coolness of the atmosphere caressing your face and you know that you have arrived, that you are, indeed, home.
